Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the Health Services model of care and principles of adult learning, in the provision of education, research, and quality client centered care for a defined group of clients and programs. The incumbent will provide visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client centered care through identified education programming. In collaboration with their Manager, the CNE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating education activities/programs. The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate. Positions will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge within designated units/programs.

Experience
- Requires a minimum of three (3) years experience related to the clinical area within the past five (5) years, and one (1) year previous experience in adult education.
- Requires experience in:
- program/resource development related to needs assessment, planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation;
- teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)

- Articulates theory and knowledge related to client centered care and principles of adult education.
- Demonstrates ability to develop educational programs/resources including needs assessment, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation.
