Job Description: Reporting directly to the Director of Care, Providence Place (PP), the Clinical Educator position operates as a vital element of ensuring excellent care is provided at Providence Place. The Clinical Educator embeds the mission, vision, and values of Providence Place as a guiding principle and foundation in the education and expertise provided to staff. A key component of this role is to provide clinical expertise, guidance, and support to front-line care providers. Along with the resident care manager’s oversight, this position demonstrates influential leadership in elements of resident and client care as necessary to ensure education and quality improvement initiatives are embedded into practice.

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience
- Previous administration experience
- Recent geriatric nurse experience is preferred
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Nursing diploma is acceptable

- Experience coordinating, and facilitating adult education is an asset.
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS

- Planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities/programs for staff
- Working intra-departmentally
- Providing clinical experience including assessment and care planning for clients
- Provide hands on support to the care team to ensure proper technique is utilized
- Providing clinical expertise/hands-on support/consultation to adult day program
- Promoting excellent patient care through expert consultation and role modeling
- Effectively leading care initiatives
- Ensuring consistency of standards across care areas is central to role success
- Assessing learning needs of staff
- May provide expert coaching to other facilities
- May serve as an expert in geriatric nursing and wound care theory/initiatives
- Supports a culture of safety within the facility
- Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
