Job Description:
Under the direction of the Clinical Manager of the Renal Unit the Renal Program Access Nurse, as a member of the Renal Multidisciplinary Team, will be responsible for co-coordinating, monitoring and interventional planning for Chronic Kidney Disease patients that have or require a vascular access. The incumbent will integrate knowledge, experience and skill in providing quality, client-centered care and thereby improving access creations and outcomes. The Renal Access nurse will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate.

Education
- Graduate of an approved Nursing Program.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Requires, or is in progress towards, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or comparable degree in education/adult learning.
Experience
- Five years recent clinical renal experience required.
- Experience in education or adult teaching is required.
- Previous experience in program development, implementation and evaluation is desired.

Licenses
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training
- Requires current registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA).
- Requires certification for life support, required by the program.
- Basic computer skills.
- Travel is required both within the region and out of region.
