Job Description: The Primary Health Care (PHC) Registered Nurse (RN) reports directly to the Primary Health Care Managers. This position will also have reporting responsibilities to other managers in the Primary Health Care portfolio and/or to managers of facilities that they provide services in. Accountability will be maintained through a close working relationship with the Primary Health Care Leadership Team.The Primary Health Care RN is an integral member of the primary health care team, providing and coordinating initial, continuing, and comprehensive nursing services to patients in the Primary Health care networks. The PHC RN promotes quality health care outcomes working within established standards for case management practice to ensure that patients/clients receive a high standard of Primary Health Care. This will be done in accordance with Saskatchewan Health Authority mission statement and Primary Health Care policies and procedures of the facility and department. The PHC RN initiates and/or participates in community development initiatives and the evaluation of PHC initiatives within the network.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C)

Other Education and Training

  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
