Job Description: The incumbent is accountable for the provision of direct concurrent mental health and addictions services to adults and their families. These services include case management, individual and group counselling and public educations/consultation in the area of mental health and addictions. The incumbent shall apply recovery principles and function within practices of Mental Health and Addictions program management model. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience

  • 2 years working experience in community mental health and addictions services

Education

  • Degree in Nursing or relevant Health Sciences Degree acceptable to the Employer

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Social Work is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to be self-directed, creative, collaborative and to have sound judgement
  • Above avg. clinical assessment, case planning, consultation & supervision skills 
  • Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions
  • Knowledge of Sask Model of Recovery Services and motivational assessment process
  • Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
  • Knowledge of how addictions impacts the individual, community and families 
  • Ability to facilitate educational and skill development groups
  • Work co-operatively/effectively with other staff members/external partners

  • Ability to travel when required
  • Can work flexible hours; ability to work shifts based on operational needs.
  • Ability and willingness work evenings/weekends as required
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
