FINANCE MANAGER
The William Booth Special Care Home (WBSCH) is an affiliate of the Saskatchewan Health Authority but is owned and operated by the Salvation Army. WBSCH is a leader in innovative programs designed to meet the needs of residents in Long Term Care (53 beds), Hospice Care (10 beds), Convalescent Care (18 beds), and Adult Day Support Program. WBSCH is seeking a Finance Manager to join our team. WBSCH desires to be recognized as a care center of excellence, a healthy workplace and a location where Christian love and compassion are shown.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for monitoring the annual operating and capital budgets for the facility, in collaboration with Divisional Headquarters and Territorial Headquarters. They will enhance data management and support budgeting and financial reporting processes.
Accountabilities (not limited to but includes):
- payroll and benefits and ensures
- management of financial resources within the facility, in collaboration with department managers.
- Month end billing (with support from admin assistant)
- Journal entries, account reconciliation
- Reviews, approves and analyzes financial statements
- Processing new hires/terminations in AIMS
- Work with external auditors
- Respond to complex business/financial inquiries both internal and external to the organization
- Reviews budgets with department managers on a monthly basis
- IT and Inventory support
Position:
- Permanent Full Time (37.5hr/wk)
- Pay/Benefits: Per the SAHO terms and agreement
- Start Date: May 4, 2026 (negotiable)
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration; minimum
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with demonstrated skill in financial management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- AIMS experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal effectiveness, organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated advanced leadership skills and proven ability to apply a multidisciplinary approach
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with other managers, providers, stakeholders and community agencies
- Familiar with pay and benefits
- Attention to details and critical thinking
- Intermediate knowledge of excel
- Advanced computer skills
- Demonstrated financial skills
- Committed to the WBSCH Mission and Values and to delivering person-centered care
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and standards
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan health care system
- Knowledge in First Nation and Metis history in Saskatchewan
- Class 5 driver’s license
