Job Description: The manager is accountable for the Clinical Nutrition, Production, and Retail Services for multiple facilities within their assigned Rural network. This includes, ensuring for the provision of safe, high quality Nutrition and Food Services that supports the vision of the SHA. The incumbent ensures all aspects of the food service operations are compliant with Food Safety and Infection Control guidelines, including the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Program. Primary operation hours are 0600 - 2000, 7 days/week. These may be modified depending on the facility and resident/patient requirements. Contacts include, staff at all levels of the organization, physicians and physician leaders, vendors, patient and family advisory representatives, community groups and agencies, government departments and the Ministry of Health.Committee work includes, but is not limited to; client and resident councils, cross-functional network committees, Occupational Health&Safety, Infection Control, Culinary Advisory Team, and NFS standardization committees.Major Challenges include: - Ensuring implementation and compliance to standards in multiple sites with limited formal leadership.- Span of Control challenges, as the manager will be required to provide visible leadership over a large geography with an extensive number of direct reports.- Complex recruitment and retention challenges require the need for a strategic contingency plan.- Required to provide periodic out-of-scope coverage in other portfolios.- Required to act as the lead out-of-scope (OOS) contact for residents, families, and visitors if they are the sole OOS staff member in a rural/remote facility (face of the organization).- Extensive travel throughout the province and network on a regular and ongoing basis.- After hours support for Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) related staffing and operational issues, with the potential to participate in a network/area Out of Scope on-call rotation.

Experience

  • Experience in leadership
  • Five (5) years experience in Nutrition and Food Services Management

Education

  • Food and Nutrition Management diploma
  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
