Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, the Infection Control Practitioner Senior (ICP Senior) is responsible to support infection control programming and services and develop common, standardized approaches to infection prevention and control within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Together with other ICP Seniors, this position provides leadership and technical expertise to the SHA's provincial infection prevention and control (IPAC) program and in-scope supervision duties. Strategic direction for the provincial program is established through collaboration with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years experience working as an Infection Control Practitioner

Education

• Degree in Nursing or relevant Health Sciences Degree acceptable to the Employer
• Infection Control and Epidemiology certificate

Knowledge and Abilities

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Knowledge to identify, investigate & control outbreaks of infectious diseases
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Knowledge in epidemiologic principles, statistics and microbiology
• Knowledge of current infection control standards, practices and protocols
• Ability to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
