Job Description:
The Human Resource Information System Specialist, reporting to the director of HR Systems and Data Analytics, is accountable for the configuration, maintenance and implementation of an Oracle and Kronos based human resource information system, as well as development of HRIS applications
This position will be responsible for expanding and improving the current programming to create a robust human resource reporting system that meets the current and future requirements of the organization. This position will focus mainly on system support for the area of Human Capital Management (workforce structure maintenance, employment, talent, teaching management, performance management, staff safety). Responsibility and accountability will include inquiry and service request support, release management, knowledge management, assistance with training and change management, business continuity planning, disaster recovery plans, master data management and reporting.

Education: Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered
Experience:
- Minimum of four years' experience in the information technology field, preferably in a health care setting
- Preferred experience using Oracle HCM, Kronos Dimensions or Service Now
- Experience in Win 7/2008/2012 and Microsoft Databases (SQL 2008/2012)
- Experience in programming SQL, XML, ASP.net and transactional based applications an asset
- Experience in SSRS, Excel, Access Databases and other report writing tools
- Experience in data analysis and data manipulation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with Service Now, Kronos and Oracle HCM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail
- An understanding and commitment to the vision, mission and values of the region
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, consultative manner
- Advances working knowledge of various computer programs including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint; etc. For purposes of report generation, must be proficient in spreadsheet and database applications
- Ability to facilitate multiple projects, priorities and demands
- Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of database management systems, SQL, Visual Basic and report building
- Must possess a current driver's license and/or have access to travel on short notice
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Solid understanding of core HR business practices, including HRMS / IHRIS, recruiting compensation, payroll, benefits, talent and performance management, labour relations, scheduling
- Well-developed knowledge of current programming practices relating to SQL, XML and/or ASP.net
