Job Description: The incumbent reports directly to the Manager on matters pertaining to patient care, continuing education, training, operational checks, and maintenance of equipment. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement

Education
- Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)
Licenses
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Community Paramedic endorsement is as asset
- Current CPR certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certificate acceptable
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)

Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of application and use of safety restraints and postural supports
- Knowledge of Primary Health Care and Community Paramedicine
- Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques

- Heavy lifting and often extreme physical exertion will be required
- Knowledge of safe client movement
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Work in unpredictable areas, such as multiple types of tech/emergency equipment

- May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives
- Registered/eligible with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at ACP/EMT-P
- Travel in inclement weather
Additional Comment
- No guaranteed hours. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable.
