Job Description: Under the Direction of the Manager and as part of the interdisciplinary Community Outreach and Support Team (COAST) within Adult Outreach, the Assessor Coordinator- Degree- Senior provides a complex range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordinator services to a community mental health and addictions population. The incumbent provides program consultation and coordination, evaluation of clinical interventions, supervision, preceptors students in formal clinical practicum, and provides professional public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources. The incumbent acts as a resource for other professionals for mental health and addictions in the community.

Experience
- 2 years working experience in community mental health and addictions services
- Supervisory experience is an asset
Education
- Degree in a health or social science related field.
Other Education and Training
- Registered/eligible registration with appropriate licensing body if applicable
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions
- Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field.
- Above avg. clinical assessment,case planning, consultation & supervision skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills, workload management and administration skills.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Work collaboratively w/ a multidisciplinary team & other agencies in the commnty
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Regulations
- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
- Solid consultation skills& ability to work collaboratively w/ community partners
- Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions
- Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
- Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act
