Description
Unit Summary
The Clinical Resource Program provides a centralized model of service delivery and coordination in the areas of Patient
Flow, Staffing and Scheduling, and Clinical Resource Management. The program is accountable for the delivery of roles,
resources and structures required to achieve clinical efficiencies across Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS). The Scheduling
Operations Centre (SOC) is responsible for the delivery of staff scheduling services, directly supporting clinical operations
across various HHS sites and programs.
Position Summary
The WFM Scheduler works within the Scheduling Operations Centre (SOC) and is responsible for scheduling tasks, in
support of assigned areas/pods. The WFM Scheduler is responsible for monitoring and filling vacant shifts in accordance
with applicable collective agreements, HHS policy, and scheduling guidelines. The WFM Scheduler is also the first point
of contact and support for leaders, helping to resolve day-to-day scheduling issues. The WFM Scheduler also monitors
and validates timecards for bi-weekly payroll approval, and processes time and attendance transactions within the
WorkforcePro system and integrated Andgo automated call-out system. The WFM Scheduler supports the delivery of
scheduling operations centre (SOC) services in a 17/7 service environment, shift work included.
Schedule Work Hours
37.5 week; Days, evenings, weekends and holidays
Qualifications - Internal
1. 2-year College diploma in Business, Human Resources, or Office Administration.
2. 2 years required work experience in a scheduling/administrative environment.
3. 1 year preferred experience with automated scheduling software, including ability to manipulate and interpret reports.
4. Knowledge of customer service standards, and policies pertaining to staffing, scheduling, time and labour.
5. Demonstrated detailed knowledge of union Collective Agreements, non union contracts and ability to apply collective
agreement language to the scheduling of staff.
6. Demonstrated ability to make decisions in accordance with policies, legislated requirements and collective agreements
and in accordance with HHS core values.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft products (MS365/Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), including creation,
maintenance and use of complex documents.
8. Keyboarding skills of 45wpm (subject to testing)
9. Highly developed communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal.
10. Excellent listening skills and client relationship skills
11. Excellent Organizational and time management skills.
12. Ability to analyze issues and develop solutions.
13. Ability to be self-directed and take initiative while working independently and remaining focused on an assignment
through to delivery
14. Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment
