Sr. Financial Analyst – Capital Projects

The Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Projects will work with portfolio Directors and their management teams to achieve and maintain effective financial management, control and strategic planning while working within the corporate polices and procedures of HHS. The Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Projects will be accountable for a lead role in the financial control and reporting related to major hospital redevelopment projects as well as major renovations. 

The Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Projects will be accountable for a lead role in the month end close process, including variance analysis and monthly preparation of specific reconciliations. The Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Projects will perform a supporting role in preparation of year end lead sheets and audited financial statements, as well as internal and external reporting and maintenance of the financial reporting structure. The Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Projects will also be responsible for reporting and advising on aspects of major capital projects, liaising with stakeholders including project managers as well as government and financial institutions such as the Ministry of Health and HHS Foundation.

1. Post secondary Degree or Diploma in Commerce, Business or Accounting
2. Professional CPA designation preferred, or minimum of 5 years' equivalent related accounting or audit experience
3. Strong knowledge of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Public Sector Accounting Standards
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, Meditech Financials and Epic Billing/AR
5. Ability to adapt to unique and changing expectations with effective time management skills
6. Excellent analytical and communication skills coupled with a desire and ability to be a team player
7. Experience in preparing budgets, analyzing financial and statistical data at an organizational level
8. Previous hospital experience an asset
9. Experience working on financial analysis of government funded infrastructure projects would be an asset
