Research Data Manager

The Research Data Manager will work within the Hematology service where specialized care is provided primarily for children with Hemophilic blood disorders and their families. They will support the clinical research activity of the Hemophilia service by collaborateing with the interdisciplinary team. The Research Manager will initiate clinical trials and related investigations for this population according to regulatory and institutional guidelines and requirements; register eligible patients; manage the studies; extract, compile, evaluate and submit data; monitor study compliance; monitor and maintain ongoing regulatory requirements; and provide information and feedback on designated clinical trials. The Research Manager will also extract, compile, evaluate, submit data according to regulatory and institutional guidelines.


Qualifications

1. Completion of CTRC clinical trial coordinator certification course
2. SOCRA certification
3. Minimum 3 years recent research experience (preferably in pediatric and adult Hematology)
4. Masters of Science degree preferred
5. Demonstrated ability to effectively learn and utilize information technologies including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), Electronic Medical records (Meditech, Sovera, EPIC)
6. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, budget, billing, and finance
7. Commitment to continuing education in pediatric and adult Hematology research
8. Demonstrated data managerial and organizational skills
9. Experience in writing and collaborating for academic publication
10. Knowledge of hematological assays and immunology training is an asset
11. Demonstrated experience providing equitable and inclusive care to parents, adults and children from historically excluded and marginalized communities including folks who are Indigenous, Black, racialized, disabled, and/or Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+
12. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion including evidence of education and learning undertaken in this space
13. Demonstrated ability for independent action, initiative, problem solving, organization and prioritization
14. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
15. Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative role with the members of the multidisciplinary team
16. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt positively to constantly changing situations
17. Membership to professional organizations relevant to the role
