We are seeking a Research Associate with a PhD and a strong background in cellular or molecular biology, metabolism, inflammation, or related fields. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and creative scientist who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about impactful, clinically relevant research. You will lead and execute cutting-edge projects exploring the biology of adipose tissue in burn injury and trauma, helping to shape the future of metabolic and inflammatory care.

As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to experimental design, data interpretation, manuscript writing, and the mentorship of trainees. This role also includes significant opportunities for career development, publication, and national/international collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and analyze complex laboratory experiments related to adipose tissue biology and post-burn inflammation.
  • Collaborate with principal investigators and other faculty to drive long-term research programs.
  • Draft high-impact manuscripts and assist in developing grant applications to national and international funding bodies.
  • Interpret, present, and publish research findings; contribute to patent filings when appropriate.
  • Develop and apply new laboratory techniques, including molecular, biochemical, and imaging methods.
  • Foster and expand collaborative research networks across institutions.
  • Mentor and guide graduate students and junior team members.
  • Attend and present at national and international scientific meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.


Qualifications
  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, physiology).
  • Minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong technical expertise in cell culture, animal models, and/or molecular analysis.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Motivated, curious, and collaborative mindset - essential for a translational research environment.
