The Registered Nurse (RN) will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the SHF. The SHF operates as part of the Community & Population Health Program and is approved to conclude on or before March 31, 2027. Registered Nurses (RNs) recruited for the SHF are hired into permanent positions through the Nursing Resource Team (NRT).

Our SHF nurses are set-up for success and go through a comprehensive on-site orientation program, led by experienced health care professionals and educators. As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the RN coordinates and evaluates patient care and provides nursing care according to the standards of practice for RNs.


Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

  • Physical assessment skills and ability to detect changing health status

  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in an effective, professional, caring manner

  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills, ongoing professional development

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and shifting demands

  • Venipuncture an asset
