Description
Reporting to the Director, Child & Youth Mental Health and Autism Services, the Project Manager, will provide overall project leadership and expertise to the Child and Youth Mental Health and Autism Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with clinical managers and the broader teams to advance innovation, quality improvement, and deliver on strategic priorities within the CYMH and Autism Programs. The Project Manager will provide project management expertise with a lens of continuous quality improvement and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Lead the implementation of the CYMH Strategic Plan including development and monitoring of the operational work plan
· Develop and facilitate engagement sessions, process mapping and other meetings as required including preparing agendas, presentations and follow-up
· Monitor progress against project timelines, milestones and deliverables, and proactively work with teams and stakeholders to address barriers to success.
· Create and maintain tools and documentation to support performance tracking, accountability and transparency.
· Support the sustainability and continuous improvement of marketed services by identifying best practices, efficiencies and areas for innovation.
· Conduct data-informed analysis to identify opportunities for quality improvement and operational efficiencies.
Education and Work Experience:
· Undergraduate degree in Health Administration, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics or related field required;
· Master’s degree in related field preferred; and/or equivalent related work experience
· 3-5 years project leadership experience within healthcare, public sector, or a related setting formal project management training preferred
· 3-5 years related work experience, such as experience leading quality improvement initiatives, and/or experience leading the collection and collation of data, in a health care sector or academic institution
· 3-5 years’ experience engaging and partnering with various competing stakeholder groups
· Experience in and/or experience supporting clinical operations required
· LEAN, Six Sigma or CQI process improvements training considered an asset
· Advanced capability in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Skills and Abilities:
· High level of critical thinking skills and effective stakeholder engagement to gain necessary buy-in for project success
· Ability to synthesize data to inform improvement opportunities
· Sound consulting, facilitation and advisory skills
· Proven ability to influence and lead others, project teams, and stakeholder groups
· Proven process design ability
· Experience developing, executing and monitoring a fulsome evaluation strategy
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment.
· Strong results orientation and enthusiastic energy; must be able to thrive in a fast paced work environment
· Ability to work with little supervision; organize and establish priorities within multiple projects and tasks, demonstrated ability to meet project and task deadlines and adjust quickly to changing requiremen
