As a member of the healthcare team, the physiotherapist coordinates, assesses and evaluates patient care and provides physiotherapy care to meet the needs of patients on 8 West. The Physiotherapist collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and community agencies in the provision of care and discharge planning for patients and their families. The Physiotherapist practices in accordance with the College of Physiotherapist of Ontario Standards of Practice and Guidelines and according to Hamilton Health Science Policies and Procedures. The Physiotherapist utilizes a patient-centered care approach and incorporates best available evidence into practice. The Physiotherapist participates and provides clinical education to physiotherapy students and others through preceptor, tutor and / or clinical lecturer activities. In addition to providing clinical care, the Physiotherapist will actively participate in continuing professional development opportunities, membership in professional practice and program committees that support patient care, clinical practice, education and research as approved by Clinical Manager in consultation with the Chief of Physiotherapy Practice. 


Qualifications

1. Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario 
2. Relevant experience with medical population 
3. Demonstrated excellent communication skills 
4. Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team 
5. Self-directed, independent practitioner
