Physiotherapist

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Physiotherapist coordinates, assesses and evaluates patient care and provides physiotherapy care to meet the needs of patients in the Burn Unit and Outpatient Burn and Scar Clinics. The Physiotherapist collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and community agencies in the provision of care and discharge planning for patients and their families.


Qualifications
  1. Graduate of an approved university graduate level physiotherapy program (BScPT, MSc. PT) or equivalent
  2. Current Registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  3. Well developed physiotherapy assessment & treatment skills relevant to acute burn trauma populations as well as physiotherapy critical care assessment & treatment skills for neurosciences, trauma, medical, vascular, and surgical patient populations
  4. Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal skills and effective discharge planning skills and knowledge of community resources and supports
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  6. Participation in continuing education in order to upgrade skills and keep abreast of new developments in burn patient rehabilitation and critical care populations
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a changing environment with high productivity, organizational and flexibility demands with solid clinical reasoning and caseload management skills
  8. Burn Unit experience would be preferable (particularly in rehabilitation)
