Reporting to the Corporate and Quality Pharmacy Manager, the pharmacy trainer is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating required technical training for Pharmacy Technicians. This includes all technical orientation training, mandatory annual training and skills updates required to perform tasks safely and effectively. The Pharmacy Trainer will support the Corporate and Quality Pharmacy Manager to ensure effective oversight of the HHS wide Sterile Compounding Training program and Non Sterile and Sterile Compounding activities occurring at HHS. 


Qualifications
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Graduate of an approved Pharmacy Technician Program 
  • Annual Third Party Sterile  Compounding Certification
  • Five years’ experience working in Non Hazardous and Hazardous Sterile Compounding 
  • Two years’ experience working in a preceptor role preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of pharmacy roles and ability to teach skills to adult learners
  • Knowledge of OCP and NAPRA standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements related to pharmacy roles (eg OCP, NAPRA, NIOSH, OH&S Act, WHMIS, AODA etc)
  • Competency in office skills: Outlook, Simplifi, EPIC (as of go-live), Meditech, MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up to date records
