Description
The Occupational Therapist is accountable for providing Occupational Therapy Services designed to improve and/or maintain: the comfort / functional abilities / quality of life of patients in Medically Complex Care. Assessment and treatment plans are developed in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to meet the goals of patients and families. OT expertise primarily focuses on strategies and equipment to promote safe: mobility and transfers / pain and wound management / quality of life outings and visits with family / potential discharges to die at home with community supports. The Occupational Therapist reports directly to the Clinical Manager, for all functions pertaining to service operations and team functions on the assigned program.
1) Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school will be considered.
2) Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
3) One year clinical experience in Medically Complex Care
4) Demonstrated clinical judgment and ability to utilize a holistic approach emphasizing quality of life
5) Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
6) Ability to attend work regularly; demonstrated by an acceptable attendance record
7) Moca certification preferred
