Description

The Nutrition Associate assists in all areas of Food Service operation. Primary duties include but are not limited to collecting patient meal selections; tray assembly; nourishment, enteral feeding and formula preparation; meal and nourishment delivery to patients; tray collection; diet changes; dishwashing; cleaning and customer service.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Grade 10 education
2. Successful completion of the Dietary Food Service Worker Certificate Program (College program) is required
3. Safe Food Handlers Certificate is required
4. Previous hospital or long term care experience working in the dietary department
5. Good physical condition. Ability to stand for long periods, reaching, bending, pushing and lifting up to 20kg, using good body mechanics
6. Ability to demonstrate attributes that contributes to a respectful caring environment
7. Ability to communicate effectively with members of the health care team
8. Ability to set and adjust priorities and organize work in response to department needs
