Description
The Nurse Practitioner (Adult) will provide focused, holistic clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings to patients with cerebral vascular conditions, such as cerebral aneurysms, carotid stenosis, vascular malformations and vascular tumors (brain & spine), that requires monitoring techniques and /or neuro-endovascular treatments such as coiling, stenting and/or embolization. In addition, the role will include the development, of expertise in performance and interpretation of transcranial dopplers. Training for the procedure will be provided. The NP will play a significant role in program development, research, education and consultation. Additional accountabilities may be negotiated with NP and program leadership as this program develops.
2. Masters Degree in Nursing and/or equivalent graduate Degree
3. Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical experience supporting a population of acute neuroscience patients
4. Demonstrated experience in research and program development
5. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and competency to work within interprofessional teams
6. Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking skills
7. Demonstrated ability to promote professional development in nursing
8. Eligible for Faculty appointment with McMaster University
