The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for: the receipt, sorting and labeling of microbiology specimens; computing data entry of patient and test information; processing and culture of microbiology specimens; preparation and staining of smears; sample separation and preparation; preparation of laboratory supplies and reagents, results transcription and skill mix workflow processing.

Qualifications

1. Certified as a Medical Laboratory Assistant with MLPAO
2. 6-12 months practical experience in a clinical laboratory
3. Keyboarding skills
