Description
The Manager of Diagnostic Services is responsible for assisting with the development of department and strategic plans in alignment with the Mission, Vision and Core values of the Hamilton Health Sciences corporation. In consultation with the Director, the manager is responsible for planning and preparation of the annual operational plan and budget for the modalities of Diagnostic services as it relates to the management of human , financial, material and capital resources of the site, ensuring the department operates in a manner that is efficient, volume and outcome responsive yet operating within current budgetary restraints. The manager is responsible for safe day-to-day operation of the department, fostering a positive atmosphere that supports team building, collaboration and shared learning; while ensuring excellence in the provision of services and quality patient care. The manager is responsible for communicating and disseminating information to staff, site Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Cardiologists, Site Chief Radiologist, Director, Chief Radiologist and Medical Chief Of Nuclear Medicine in a timely manner. In addition to site and modality specific duties, cross site, corporate or city-wide responsibilities will be assumed where applicable. The position requires extensive knowledge of the practice of Medical Imaging in multiple modalities.
• Extensive knowledge of the practice of Medical Imaging in multiple modalities.
• Knowledge and understanding of financial management and planning
• Project management and Lean skills experience required
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge of hospital processes and system’s ( Microsoft Office, PACS, Meditech, Peoplesoft, Taleo, MI Req, SOR reporting, Budget Tool, Baseware, eRTP)
• Graduate of an approved Medical Radiation Sciences Program ( Diploma or undergraduate degree) or other relevant health professional experience required.
• Master Degree in health administration, business administration would be an asset.
• 5 years supervisory leadership in a hospital Medical Imaging Department required
• 2 years Project Management required
• 2 years Quality Management required
• Knowledge of Broader Public Sector guidelines.
