Corporate Services Leader - Trainer

The Corporate Services Trainer is a critical role dedicated to ensuring our frontline teams; including Environmental Aides, Porters, and Nutrition staff, are equipped with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to maintain a safe, high-quality environment. This role is responsible for collaborating with diverse stakeholders to develop, implement, maintain and evaluate effectiveness of onboarding programs that incorporate regulatory standards and best practices as they relate to daily operations within the Corporate Services portfolio. In conjunction with our expanded leadership team, this role ensures that our team members are able to perform their tasks with precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development: Develop and maintain current  comprehensive technical training modules tailored specifically for Environmental Services, Portering, and in-patient Nutrition Services within a hospital setting.


Onboarding & Orientation: Delivery of required theoretical and technical skills orientation for new staff and/or existing staff transitioning to new roles within the Corporate Services portfolio. Preparation for onboarding activities and maintenance of all associated training records


Skills Maintenance: Respond to system needs or changes and conduct skills updates or "refresher" workshops to keep staff current on the latest equipment and techniques. These may include mandatory training, skills refreshers or innovation changes requiring adoption of new practices.


Evaluation: Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through audits, assessments, and feedback, adjusting curricula as needed to improve outcomes.

 
Proficient knowledge of best practice guidelines and recommendations related to Corporate Services Program operations - including but not limited to:  PIDAC (Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee), CSA (Canadian Standards Association) Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

Scheduled Work Hours

Days, evenings, 7 day rotation


Qualifications

1. Post-secondary education including leadership courses

2. Recent (3-5 years) supervisory experience preferably in a hospital environment

3. Previous experience providing adult education and working in a union environment

4. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

5. Solid understanding of client-centered service and service excellence.

6. Effective presentation and writing skills and intermediate computer skills

7. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and team-building skills

8. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

9. Demonstrated ability to supervise numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations

10. Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem-solve, make recommendations for change, implement and evaluate

11. Evidence of commitment to continuous education
