Clinical Psychologist

The Psychologist will be part of an interdisciplinary team working with patients in the Pediatric Ambulatory Clinics within Children’s Exercise and Nutrition Centre. The Psychologist will be working with patients with child obesity and Type 2 Diabetes. The Psychologist will be responsible for delivering care to children, youth and families in an outpatient tertiary care setting. Responsibilities will include: managing and maintaining an active case workload as per program requirements and expectations, working collaboratively with other team members to develop and implement a care plan for children and adolescents with child obesity and Type 2 diabetes, providing specialized therapy services to pediatric and adolescent patients and their families, and acting as a resource to other team members regarding psychometric testing, psycho-diagnostic assessment, therapeutic intervention and program policy. In addition, some responsibility will also include the development and maintenance of a database related to child obesity patients for research and program evaluation purposes, and acting as a liaison with other researchers within and across programs. The Psychologist will provide consultation/liaison to caregivers and community agencies, as well as leadership to research, quality assurance projects, and program development activities. The Psychologist also provides education to staff and other learners.
