Clinical Manager

The Clinical Manager of the Clinical Neurosurgical Unit will direct the operational and clinical activity of the 28 bed Neurosurgical unit which treats primarily an intracranial neurosurgical patient population and houses seven level 2 critical care monitored step down beds, 2 Regional Assessment Bays and a monitored Procedure Room.

The Clinical Manager is directly accountable to the Director of the Neurosurgical  Program. S/he also provides status reports to the program leadership and ensures that Critical Care Information System reporting meets the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care/LHIN guidelines.

1. Minimum Undergraduate degree in health-related discipline; Master’s or enrollment in a graduate program preferred 
2. Three to Five years experience in health care management with particular experience in managing a surgical inpatient unit and a neurosurgical patient population 
3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple groups and stake holders 
4. Excellent operations management skills; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities 
5. Superior written and verbal communication skills 
6. Proven ability to lead and implement change 
7. Demonstrated ability to turn vision into reality 
8. Proven flexibility with high level of initiative and self-direction 
9. Competent in the use of computer software, particularly word-processing and presentations 
10. Experience in staff scheduling and bed management is an asset
