Description
McMaster Children’s Hospital which serves a population base of over 2 million people in approximately 70 communities, is the second busiest pediatric hospital in Ontario. With a long history of innovative client service supported by research, community and regional partnerships, strong interdisciplinary relationships and professional leadership we are looking for a dynamic and informed individual to lead this program. The Clinical Manager is accountable to the Program Director of the day-to-day operations of the program (including financial, workload and staffing/human resources) within an evidence-based and family-centred environment, and for service planning, implementation and integration of plans that are aligned with the McMaster Children’s Hospital and corporate directions. The Clinical Manager works in partnership with the Medical Director(s) to support the development, advancement and integration of education and research in the Mi-Care program. The Clinical Manager will foster innovations which improve child and family service outcomes by facilitating collaboration between clinical service and research resources. As the program expands, additional responsibilities may be added.
1. Current registration with a relevant regulated health professional college preferred
2. Master’s degree in Health Sciences or Business Administration preferred
3. Minimum 3 years recent clinical management experience in a pediatric setting or within child health
4. Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience in developmental pediatrics and/or rehabilitation at a senior level
5. Demonstrated understanding of developmental and rehabilitation health issues and challenges for children, youth & families
6. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to partner with community stakeholders and providers particularly in the field of development and rehabilitation services
7. Demonstrated excellence in communication, critical thinking, team building and staff engagement skills
8. Experience in managing and monitoring budgets
9. Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and conflict resolution
10. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education/learning
11. Demonstrated innovation in addressing the needs of children and youth
12. Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
