Description
The Clinical Leader collaborates with the Clinical Manager to support and promote quality care delivery for surgical patients and their families. The following activities are conducted in collaboration with the healthcare team: quality improvement activities, continuing professional education, problem-solving, staff performance review, communication within the hospital and with Peri-operative Services. Under the direction of the Clinical Manager the Clinical Leader is responsible for: managing issues related to staffing resources eg. attendance, retention, recruitment, performance management and implementation of policies and procedures; managing care delivery within a patient-centered care environment eg. total quality management, quality indicators, team building; operational supplies and equipment; participating in the budget analysis and implementation; leading change effectively within the unit; facilitating communication between departments, programs and services; promoting team spirit, cohesiveness, motivation and commitment to program goals.
2. Current Certification as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario BScN preferred
3. Recent (2-3 years) Peri-Operative Experience (OR, MDRD)
4. Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment
5. Ability and knowledge to access hospital resources
6. Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, organization, team building and conflict resolution as well as the ability to initiate and model positive change
7. Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the provision of patient-centered care
8. Demonstrated ability to support change in a constructive manner
9. Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and learning for self and others
10. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of Hamilton Health Sciences
11. Successful completion of Lean Healthcare training
12. Proficient in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access, MS PowerPoint and Outlook

Qualifications
1. Baccalaureate Degree in one of the Health Disciplines 2. Current Certification as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario BScN preferred
