Clinical Leader

The Clinical Leader will be accountable to the Clinical Manager. The Clinical Leader will establish a collaborative relationship with the Medical Director and Clinical Directors. The Clinical Leader is a member of the Leadership Team for the Autism Spectrum Disorder Program with specific responsibilities for the local Autism Intervention services for Hamilton and for the services of the Integrated Team. The Clinical Leader manages the day to day operations of the ambulatory teams and provides leadership to the teams. Through the effective use of resources, the Clinical Leader co-ordinates and facilitates daily clinical activities. The Clinical Leader acts as the communication liaison between services, as well as other health care professionals and programs at MCH. The functions of the Clinical Leader include being a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of program goals. The Clinical Leader participates in recruitment and performance reviews with respect to the teams. The Clinical Leader is responsible for understanding and promoting the strategic direction of the services and of MCH. The Clinical Leader follows through on issues that impact on the quality of patient care provided and contributes to the monitoring and development of the operating plan. The Clinical Leader provides leadership within the services for quality and risk management activities.


Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Five years of relevant clinical experience
3. Experience in monitoring budgets
4. Demonstrated understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder Services
5. Demonstrated management skills
6. Demonstrated excellence in communication, critical thinking and team building skills
7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and lifelong learning
8. Demonstrated excellence in the ability to initiate, model and support change in a constructive manner
9. Demonstrated conflict resolution and leadership skills
10. Ability to work in an environment that requires a high degree of organizational skills and flexibility
11. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision & values of McMaster Children's Hospital
12. Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process
13. Registration as a Regulated Health Professional preferred
14. Fluency in French will be considered an asset
