The Extramural Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team (PCCTT) and Intramural Pediatric Rapid Response Team (PACE) Team are both part of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH). The PICU is a robust department, comprised of 12 level 3 critical care beds, and 4 level 2 critical care beds.
- Current registration as a regulated health professional in the province on Ontario
- Baccalaureate Degree in Health Sciences or related field
- 3-5 years of recent clinical, education, or leadership experience in pediatric acute care setting
- Experience as Critical Care Transport Clinician preferred
- Experience with a Rapid Response Team preferred
- Certificate in Pediatric Critical Care or equivalent preferred
- Strong understanding of transport medicine
- Demonstrated experience in policy and medical directive development
- Demonstrated knowledge of Province of Ontario Emergency Medical Services system (eg. regional land EMS, Ornge air and land services and service agreement contractors, CritiCall)
- Proficient user in PNTN network and CCIS Data Collection preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Accreditation Canada Standards
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, team building, and conflict resolution in a team-based setting
- Resilience and demonstrated ability to make timely decisions, rapidly prioritize tasks, consult appropriate stakeholders and manage complex systems
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodology and research methods and experience engaging teams to facilitate continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission, and values of Hamilton Health Sciences
