Description
Working within behavioural services, the Autism Therapist will develop and provide treatment services and supports to children and youth (up to age 18) who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and their families. The treatment services will be designed to meet the specific needs of the children or youth in a variety of areas. Services will be provided in groups as well an individually. Parent workshops and training will be an integral component of the services. The Autism Therapist will work as a member of an integrated service delivery team with ASD services.
2. Sound knowledge of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis
3. Board Certified assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) preferred
4. Two years clinical experience in providing Applied Behavioural Analysis services or supports for individuals with autism
5. Experience with providing parent education workshops or parent training for families of children or youth with autism
6. Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
7. Personal and professional skills (maturity, patience, etc) for work with clients with autism, parents and other service providers
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
9. Computer skills and experience with data collection and management
10. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
11. First Aid/CPR training
12. Valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle
13. Bilingual fluency in French would be an asset

Qualifications
1. Undergraduate degree or college diploma with comparable training in a related field; Focus of studies should be in human behaviour and/or developmental psychology; Autism and Behavioural Sciences certificate preferred 2. Sound knowledge of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis
