Position: Health Records Clerk

Department: Clinical Information Services

Status: Temporary Part-time (approximately 12 months) (must provide availability of up to 0.6 FTE)

Hours: Monday to Friday; Days; 0800 to 1600 (Hours subject to change based on operational needs)

Site: Georgetown

This is what you will be doing:

Filing and retrieving of charts from main file as per scheduled lists and/or other sources. Filing loose reports on charts. Assembling and labeling charts in proper order. Picking up and delivering charts to units or ER as required. Answering department telephone and responding to request from internal and external customers related to health information management functions. Sorting and distributing physician mail. Packing files for microfilm. Scanning of patient records. Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Good filing and alpha/numeric filing skills
  • Medical terminology certificate or equivalent working experience required
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and accurately perform tasks
  • Familiarity with Meditech MRI module
  • Ability to perform independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness and ability to learn new things readily
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
  • Must be able to lift boxes repeatedly throughout the day, up to 30 lbs

Salary: $23.66 -$25.49
