Effective Date: September 1st, 2025

Salary: $65,185 - $97,497 (as per the Collective Agreement)

We are seeking qualified Social Workers to be placed in a casual pool to fill short-term vacancies during the school year. Successful candidates may be offered contracts of up to eight (8) weeks in length, and based on the needs of the schools, could be deployed anywhere within the Halton Region. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour week. Casual Social Workers will have the opportunity to apply for long-term temporary and/or permanent positions as they become available.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Social Work, Social Workers are members of an integrated school team who liaise with a variety of stakeholders to ensure student success. Social Workers provide direct service and consultation to students and caregivers through counselling, community referrals, and coordinating with school staff to meet student needs. As part of a multi-disciplinary school team, Social Workers also provide consultation around strategies to enhance student engagement.

Qualifications / Experience

Master’s of Social Work with registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Minimum one (1) year clinical experience required; experience working with students is an ass

Knowledgeable of legislation as it relates to Education, child welfare, and health legislations

Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Capacity to work in a culturally responsive manner and to engage members of diverse communities

This position is covered by the A.P.S.S.P Collective Agreement.
