Telecommunication Technician and Rigger Foreman

We are seeking an experienced telecommunications foreman to supervise field crews on infrastructure projects in Ontario. This key role combines operational leadership and technical expertise, with responsibilities including coordinating site activities, ensuring the quality of installations, and guaranteeing compliance with safety standards. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and clients.

Full-time. Permanent. 37.5 hours/week.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead field teams during site deployment, upgrade, and decommissioning activities;
  • Plan and coordinate daily work, including mobilization and logistics;
  • Ensure productivity, quality of work, and compliance with health and safety standards;
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical support to team members;
  • Perform and supervise the installation of antennas, radio equipment, and cabling systems;
  • Conduct and validate radio frequency tests and installation performance;
  • Diagnose and resolve on-site technical issues;
  • Manage project closeout documentation and progress reports;
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and client representatives;
  • Supervise rigging operations, civil works, and structural installations.
Profile:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in telecommunications;
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of Ericsson equipment and site operations;
  • Proficient in 2G, 3G, LTE, and 5G technologies;
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills;
  • Ability to manage priorities in a demanding environment;
  • Knowledge of DC power systems;
  • Understanding of structural engineering;
  • Basic knowledge of fiber optic testing (OTDR).
