We are looking for a candidate to join our purchasing team!
We are looking for a purchasing assistant responsible for ordering the supplies and equipment needed by our company. The purchasing assistant is specifically responsible for tracking deliveries and updating order records (dates, invoices, discounts, etc.). Over time, you will make cost-effective purchases and ensure that our inventory is always well-stocked.
Description:
We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to order supplies and equipment based on our company’s needs. Purchasing Assistant responsibilities include tracking deliveries and updating order records (e.g. dates, invoices and discounts) Ultimately, you will make cost-effective purchases and ensure we maintain a fully stocked inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Faxing/emailing orders
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Making cheque requests for COD vendors
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
- Filling and entering orders with online vendors
Requirements:
- Work experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer or similar role
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of market research
- Solid organizational skills
- BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
- Must be bilingual (English and French)
