Benefits

Are you passionate about mechanics and ready to take on stimulating challenges? Tessier Limited, a leader in the management of complex lifting projects in Quebec and the Far North, is looking for a Technical Advisor to join its Baie-Comeau team.

In this essential role, you will be at the heart of our mechanical operations. You'll coordinate between mechanics, suppliers and the foreman, managing work orders, scheduling maintenance and ordering parts. You'll work in a hands-on environment where your ability to solve technical problems and organize tasks efficiently will make all the difference.

You'll bring solid mechanical expertise that will enable you to fully understand heavy equipment and maintenance processes. Your ability to plan and coordinate effectively will enable you to handle priorities and emergencies with confidence.

This position will offer you a variety of tasks, valuable autonomy and complete immersion in the world of industrial and maritime projects.

For this position, we are above all looking for a team player, someone capable of working closely with others while being autonomous and proactive. If you are proficient in IT tools such as MS Office and have a keen sense of problem-solving in the field, combined with a pragmatic, action-oriented approach, you would be an essential asset in ensuring that operations run smoothly.

Specifically, the main responsibilities of the technical advisor are to:

  • Work Order Management: Open, close, and update work orders in the MCS system, including equipment data and engine hours
  • Maintenance and Inspection Follow-Up: Monitor mechanical maintenance activities, ensure compliance with inspection deadlines (PEP program, etc.), and keep vehicle records up to date for the SAAQ
  • Support to Mechanics: Search for, order, and track necessary parts based on diagnostics performed by the mechanics
  • Documentation Preparation: Prepare necessary documents for mechanics, complete and send oil sampling reports, and conduct parts research and ordering based on diagnosed needs
  • Coordination and Planning: Schedule subcontracted repair appointments, track engine hours of on-site equipment for upcoming maintenance planning, ensure the quality of work before deploying units to the site, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Administration and Logistics: Complete employee timesheets for supervisor validation, maintain the document filing system according to requirements, and assist the supervisor in planning work and logistics
  • Health, Safety, and Quality: Ensure safety by applying OHS standards, ensuring the use of PPE, and intervening in case of risky behavior
