Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Maintenance Director, the incumbent supports overall production, plant maintenance, and various equipment, and must respond to emergency calls.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on machines and tools.
  • Production material management:
    • Empty chips and other materials into the proper containers.
    • Contact AIM when necessary.
    • Empty trash into Waste Management containers.
    • Operate the Zamboni.
    • Clean oil spills.
  • Coolant/Oil management:
    • Read and update coolant concentration logs for machines.
    • Refill machines.
    • Notify when oils/coolant need to be ordered.
  • Perform humidity tests in the air network; validate compressor/dryer.
  • Ensure all necessary materials are available for maintenance and repairs.
  • General building maintenance: repairs, painting, snow removal, salting, carpentry, plumbing, etc.
  • Follow up on work with the director.
  • Perform all related tasks.
  • Assist external maintenance providers with equipment servicing.
Job Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma (DES).

Technical Skills

  • 1–2 years of manual labor experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset).
  • Forklift operation experience (an asset).

Personal Skills

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Time and priority management.
  • Interpersonal communication.
  • Autonomy and good judgment.
  • Detail-oriented and conscientious.
  • Organized.
  • Ability to use a measuring tape.
