Position Purpose

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Salt Bath Assistant Operator works under the supervision of the operator and assists in performing heat‑treatment operations using the salt bath process. They prepare customer orders, support production activities, and actively participate in the handling and movement of parts. They gradually develop the skills required to progress toward more technical responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the operator in supporting heat‑treatment operations;
  • Prepare parts and customer orders for production according to established priorities;
  • Participate in loading and unloading of heat‑treatment furnaces;
  • Safely operate handling equipment such as hoists and forklifts;
  • Handle parts carefully to preserve their integrity and compliance;
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment in accordance with health and safety standards;
  • Participate in learning heat‑treatment techniques to support the operator as needed;
  • Handle parts using material‑handling equipment (hoist, forklift, etc.);
  • Apply quality procedures (AS9100) and work instructions;
  • Perform any other related tasks.
Job Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma (DES);
  • Vocational training in metal transformation or heat treatment (an asset);
  • Any relevant experience will be considered.
Technical Skills
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (an asset);
  • Ability to perform physical tasks in a hot environment;
  • Ease and safety in handling equipment and metal parts;
  • Basic blueprint reading skills (an asset).
Personal Skills
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Punctuality, reliability, and attention to quality work;
  • Willingness to learn, rigor, and good teamwork skills;
  • Respect for safety instructions and established procedures.
