Position Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for designing tooling to enable the fabrication of welding, trimming, and forming. They shape and work the metal to build suitable fixtures according to the trade department that requires them.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture dies, molds, and tools based on drawings or plans;
  • Fabricate, repair, or modify tools, jigs, fixtures, and machined gauges according to precise dimensions;
  • Read and interpret drawings and technical sheets for various tools and dies;
  • Perform geometric calculations when necessary;
  • Set up machine tools;
  • Use various machine tools that turn, grind, mill, sand, bore, and flatten parts to achieve the desired dimensions and finish;
  • Assemble once all parts have been manufactured;
  • Clean the workstation;
  • Store the work equipment used;
  • Follow established safety guidelines;
  • Perform other related tasks.
Job Requirements Required Education
  • DEP or equivalent experience required.
Technical Skills
  • 1 year of experience;
  • Ability to perform work following instructions from a senior machinist and assist them in the fabrication or repair of tooling;
  • Ability to perform simple tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to identify potential problems and report them to the supervisor before continuing;
  • Working knowledge of French and English;
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the company’s quality system.

  • Responsible and autonomous;
  • Sense of initiative.
