Our client, a manufacturing company based in Montreal, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a permanent position.

Position Summary :
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work in a dynamic, hands-on environment, collaborating closely with the engineering team to design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and equipment intended for demanding applications.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical engineering background, proven manufacturing experience, and the ability to transform ideas into practical solutions.
You will contribute to the development of specialized equipment that must meet high standards of performance, reliability, and quality.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for, among other things, the following :
Key Responsibilities
System Evaluation: Oversee the evaluation of complex mechanical systems using advanced knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials science.
Strategic Development: Lead the research of new manufacturing and assembly methods and guide product specifications.
Leadership: Lead complex design projects, train other engineers and technicians, and represent the company at workshops and professional associations.
Compliance and Reputation: Ensure that all developed products comply with North American government regulations as well as industry quality and safety standards.
Escalation Point
Manage high-level customer technical issues and provide advanced troubleshooting support.
Plan each ongoing project.
Participate in technical design activities and the development of new prototypes.
Evaluate mechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, and by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science.
Develop mechanical products by analyzing customer requirements and researching and testing various manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for the manufacturing, assembly, and installation of components.
Ensure system and product quality by designing test methods, testing finished products and system capabilities, and validating manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintain product and company reputation by ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Ensure proper equipment operation by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturers’ instructions and established procedures, and requesting specialized services when required.
Maintain system and product databases and related documentation.
Successfully complete projects by training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training courses, reviewing technical publications, developing professional networks, and participating in professional associations.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as required.
Complete technical manuals, including detailed product specifications, drawings, pricing, schematics, and reference documents for sales representatives.
Respond to customer calls requiring technical support and maintain detailed notes and documentation regarding issues discussed.
Submit weekly design and progress reports.
Analyze mechanical assemblies with an emphasis on different manufacturing methods.
Perform any other related duties as required.
To be considered for this opportunity, the following requirements must be met:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
More than 10 years of experience.
Proficiency in both French and English is required, as the successful candidate will collaborate with clients outside Quebec, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to meeting deadlines and ensuring engineering efficiency.
Availability to travel.
