Job Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accountant will assist with the overall operation of the company financial processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle, from journal entries to financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial matters.
Job Responsibilities
• Full cycle accounting process from beginning to end.
• Prepare and post daily accounting related entries.
• Reconcile Bank accounts (CAD and USD) and record all the related entries.
• Process accounts payable invoices, record and reconcile supplier statements. Make payments to AP vendors as directed.
• Reconcile General Ledger Accounts and analyze discrepancies
• Prepare and enter month end journal entries
• Assist with Manufacturing related accounting, payroll and other matters as required.
• Complete the month end accounting procedures under the guidance of the Corporate Controller.
• Prepare basic financial statements, Balance sheet and P&L
• Review and process employee expense reports
• Run AR and AP reports for Management
• Prepare and furnish accounting reports to management
• Work with the local management and assist as required
• Special projects and other duties assigned.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Basic accounting education either through a college degree or diploma
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a general accounting role with a solid understanding of month end journal entries, bank reconciliations and account analysis.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and internal control principles
- Strong oral and writing skills to be able to communicate effectively with management and colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
