Relevant directement au Gestionnaire senior des ressources humaines, la Généraliste RH soutient et améliore les initiatives RH de l’organisation en générant des résultats et en contribuant aux efforts de l’équipe en atteignant les objectifs établis.
Reporting directly to the Senior HR Manager, the HR Generalist supports and enhances the organization’s HR initiatives by driving results and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing established goals.
Responsabilités essentiels / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Aide la gestionnaire senior des RH à fournir des informations, des conseils et des orientations aux gestionnaires et aux employés sur les questions courantes liées aux RH (p. ex., recrutement, rémunération, avantages sociaux, congés et politiques et procédures RH) ; renvoie les questions RH plus complexes au gestionnaire senior des RH.
• Participer au recrutement et à la présélection, et publier en interne les nouvelles offres horaires selon les demandes soumises et approuvées par les gestionnaires.
• Préparer le dossier de recrutement, examiner les formulaires de recrutement des candidats une fois remplis et rédiger la lettre d'offre.
• Mène les séances d'orientation et autres formations des nouveaux employés, selon les besoins.
• Inscrire les nouveaux employés dans WorkDay, leur fournir leurs informations, numéros et photos pour identification et inscription Kronos.
• Créer les dossiers des nouveaux employés, classer les documents et conserver les documents dans les dossiers appropriés.
• Ouvrir, suivre, et mettre à jour et fermer les dossiers de griefs.
• Assister le service de la paie dans les mises à jour de la paie (congés, modifications de salaire, etc.).
• Suivre et respecter la convention collective, s'assurer que les mises à jour et les modifications sont respectées et suivies par la direction.
• Mettre à jour les bases de données internes (nouvelles embauches, changements de nom/adresse, informations bancaires, enregistrement des congés).
• Traiter les inscriptions aux régimes d'avantages sociaux et de retraite des employés et les changements de bénéficiaires.
• Coordonner le système de dossiers des employés afin de garantir un accès et des contrôles appropriés, et tenir à jour les dossiers et les registres conformément aux exigences légales et aux politiques et procédures de l'entreprise.
• Tenir à jour les tableaux d'affichage, le suivi du recrutement et le suivi des entretiens de départ.
• S'assurer que les rapports hebdomadaires, mensuels et ponctuels sont complétés avec exactitude et dans les délais.
• Accomplir la mission des ressources humaines et de l'organisation en obtenant les résultats nécessaires.
• Favoriser et entretenir des relations de travail positives avec les managers, les employés et les représentants syndicaux.
- Assists the Senior HR Manager in providing information, advice, and guidance to managers and employees on routine HR-related issues (e.g., recruitment, compensation, benefits, leave, and HR policy and procedures); refers more complex HR issues to the Senior HR Manager.
- Assist with recruiting and pre-screening and post internally new hourly openings based on submitted and approved requests from Managers
- Prepare hiring package, review candidate’s hiring package forms when completed, and prepare Offer letter
- Delivers new hire orientation and other training programs as needed
- Enroll new employees in WorkDay, provide new hires info, numbers and pictures for ID and Kronos registration
- Create new employee files, file papers and maintain documents in appropriate employee files
- Open, track, log (update), and close grievance case files
- Assist payroll department with payroll updates (i.e. leave of absences, salary changes, etc.)
- Follow and abide by the collective agreement, ensure updates and changes are respected and followed by management
- Update internal databases (i.e., new hires, name/address changes, banking information, record leaves)
- Process employee benefit and pension enrollment and beneficiary changes
- Coordinate the employee file system to provide appropriate access and controls and maintain files and records in accordance with legal requirements, and company policies and procedures
- Maintain bulletin boards, recruiting tracker, exit interview tracker.
- Ensures that weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with managers, employees, and union representatives
Éducation / Education:
- Diplôme universitaire préféré ou formation et expérience collégiales équivalentes.
- Preferred university degree or equivalent college education and experience.
Expérience de travail / Work Experience:
- Expérience professionnelle préalable en ressources humaines ou formation collégiale en RH
- Expérience professionnelle préalable en administration de la paie
- Expérience professionnelle préalable en milieu syndiqué
- Une connaissance générale des conventions collectives (CC) est un atout
- Prior work experience in a Human Resources or college education in HR
- Prior work experience in payroll administration
- Prior work experience in a unionized environment
- General knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is an asset

Position Summary:
Responsible for serving as a business partner to supervisors, department managers and the General Manager for the for the Dorval (Montreal) unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Senior HR Manager in providing information, advice, and guidance to managers and employees on routine HR-related issues (e.g., recruitment, compensation, benefits, leave, and HR policy and procedures); refers more complex HR issues to the Senior HR Manager
- Opens, tracks, logs (update), and closes grievance case files (including HRTO complaints)
- Assists the Senior HR Manager in partnering with various levels of management to understand business objectives and identifies corresponding human resource needs; implements strategies to support various business objectives and improves programs to support employee retention
- Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with managers, employees, and union representatives
- Assists the Senior HR Manager by partnering with operations and training functions to identify training needs and provide input on training approaches and content
- Partners with operations to identify and understand workforce needs; supports the recruitment of union hourly employees and assists with recruitment for salaried positions by receiving resumes, screening, conducting phone interviews, and coordinating with department managers to schedule interviews
- Create new employee files, file papers and documents in appropriate employee files
- Coordinates the physical employee file system to provide appropriate access and controls and maintains files and records in accordance with legal requirements, and company policies and procedures
- Processes employee benefit and pension enrollment and beneficiary changes
- Enters all unionized hourly new hire information into the HRIS (Workday)
- Serves as the initial employee and labor relations point of contact to mediate and resolve employee disputes and union grievances
- Assists with conducting investigations, provides recommendations to department managers and drafts discipline letters
- Delivers orientation and other training programs as needed
- Receives employment-related claims from various government or public agencies and consults with Senior HR Manager if need be
- Prepares and distributes supporting case documentation and correspondence (i.e. requests for union leaves); logs and reviews file contents for accuracy and completeness
- Maintains bulletin boards, recruiting tracker, exit interview tracker
- Maintains union seniority list
- Maintains all payroll related record keeping
- Distributes all ROEs and forms as required
- Creates and maintains accurate payroll records and mail correspondences for immediate access
- Performs data entry, audits and generates reports to ensure accuracy of records and compliance with the company’s policies and benefits providers’ requirements
- Performs general administrative tasks
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Qualification
- Degree in Human Resources, or related equivalent
- 3+ years Human Resources, Recruitment and Payroll experience in a medium-sized organization
- Experience working in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing, or food service environment highly desirable.
- CHRP designation a strong asset
- PCP designation is an asset
- General knowledge of payroll processing, records, and adhering to compliance standards
- Previous working knowledge of Kronos and Workday is preferred
Job Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of provincial and federal employment law
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Skillful with creating excel spreadsheets and pivot table
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Understanding of collective bargaining agreements
- Strong and effective leadership and people management skills
- Ability to working independently
- Effective relationship building and business partnering
Communication Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
