Job Summary

The Physician Quality Leader (PQL) - Hospital Acquired Urinary Tract Infection (HAUTI) position will offer an opportunity to empower a physician to provide regional leadership and direction to our physicians and clinical staff on this quality and patient safety initiative. This role involves collaboration with the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety (CQPS) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), senior leadership, department leaders, regional leaders and support systems to improve the safety of patients accessing care within our program.

 

Key areas of involvement include:

  • Engage physicians, Physician Quality Leaders and interdisciplinary teams to advance adoption of recommended HAUTI best practices.
  • Provide physician education and knowledge translation related to HAUTI best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented improvements on medical staff.
  • Support regional alignment of HAUTI related practices across Fraser Health and share learning through appropriate forums.

Key Deliverables:

  • Provide monthly progress updates to the Executive Director, Clinical Quality & Patient Experience, Executive Medical Director, Quality & Patient Safety, and the Regional Medical Director and Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
  • Identify evaluation measures and indicators of success to assess progress and impact.
  • Provide a summary report of progress and outcomes at the conclusion of the project term.
