CASA Classroom Teacher
High Level, Alberta
The CASA Classroom Program is a treatment-oriented program that is a collaboration
between Alberta Health Services, CASA, and school divisions. FVSD is hiring a teacher to
join a multidisciplinary team that will support the mental health needs of grades 5-9
students in a school environment.
The Position:
- Experience working with students with diagnosed mental health or social-emotional challenges
- Experience in diverse classrooms with a wide range of learning and regulation needs
- Training in mental health literacy and trauma-informed teaching practices
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- The classroom will be located in High Level Public School, a Grade 7 to 12 school in High Level with a projected enrolment of 500 students
Start Date:
- January 5, 2026
- Full-time teaching role
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid work permit
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Education or its equivalent
- Must be eligible to obtain or have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Willing to relocate to northern Alberta
Incentives:
- Attractive Salary - $76,071 to $112,346 depending on experience and education
