Job Description

ROLE: Health & Safety Coordinator (12-month contract– Upton, QC)

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team for a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in occupational health and safety within a dynamic environment. The H&S Coordinator will support the implementation of safety programs, assist with compliance initiatives, and contribute to fostering a safe and healthy workplace culture.

Reports to: National Health and Safety Director

Work Mode: On-site

Address: 830 Rue Lanoie, Upton, QC J0H 2E0

Salary: TBA

Shift/Time: Mon-Fri, (9:00am-5:00pm)

Term: Temporary-Full Time, 12-months

Education: Recent graduate from Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Ensure all KPI/Safety milestones are completed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety.
  • Stay informed on relevant health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Assist in conducting workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety training and awareness programs.
  • Help maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Participate in incident investigations and assist in tracking corrective actions.
  • Contributes to data collection and analysis for safety performance metrics.
  • Assist in preparing materials for safety meetings and toolbox talks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recent graduate from a Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in workplace health and safety and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual (French and English) is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on site location.
