I am currently recruiting for one of my clients, a manufacturing company based in Repentigny, for the position of Purchasing Manager.

Reporting to the Purchasing Director, you will be responsible for leading a team and ensuring the procurement department's performance aligns with the company's strategic goals. Your role will be key in guaranteeing material availability while optimizing costs and quality.
Specifically, you will:
* Manage and support a team of 3 people on a daily basis
* Place orders for raw materials and components within required deadlines
* Oversee material receipt to effectively support production
* Communicate closely with production, engineering, and quality departments
* Negotiate with suppliers to maximize contract value
* Monitor performance indicators and continuously improve purchasing processes
* Participate in defining short-, medium-, and long-term procurement strategies
* Support the implementation of a new ERP system within the team

Profile sought
* Demonstrates natural leadership to motivate teams
* Communicates easily at all organizational levels
* Works with rigor, autonomy, and collaboration
* Is proactive in managing change
Requirements
* University degree in management, administration, procurement, or related field
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in purchasing, including at least 2 years in team management
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is a significant asset
* Good knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, EPICOR, etc.)
* Strong skills in negotiation and planning
* Bilingual in French and English required
