Our client, a Quebec-based company in the agri-food industry, is currently looking for a Logistics Specialist to strengthen its logistics team. You will play a key role in managing shipments, ensuring customs compliance, and optimizing transportation flows and processes.
Your responsibilities:
🔹 Transportation & Customs - Import / Export
* Manage domestic and international shipments: carrier selection, bookings, tracking timelines and deliveries
* Prepare required documentation: commercial invoices, packing lists, customs certificates (FDA, ASN, COI, etc.)
* Ensure customs compliance (Canada and international) in accordance with current regulations
* Coordinate transport with the purchasing team based on negotiated Incoterms
* Maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders and logistics partners
🔹 Optimization & Coordination
* Monitor and analyze carrier performance (cost, lead time, service quality)
* Identify and implement logistics improvements to optimize flows
* Provide support on tasks usually handled by the logistics technician when needed
* Contribute to updating and improving internal logistics procedures
🔹 Client Relations & Internal Support
* Ensure effective communication with sales, production, and purchasing teams
* Draft transportation quotes for clients, aligning with profitability margins
* Handle transport-related disputes: penalty follow-up, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Profile sought:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in international logistics (import/export)
* Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
* Solid knowledge of Incoterms, customs regulations, and related portals (FDA, Customs, ASN)
* Proficient with Office 365 - knowledge of Solochain or Navision is a strong asset
* Autonomous, detail-oriented, solution-driven, and a strong team player
