MissionOur client, a well-established Quebec-based manufacturer specializing in architectural lighting solutions, is looking for a Buyer Planner to join its team in Montreal.
Your Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in supply planning, supplier management, and ensuring the timely availability of raw materials required to support production.
Key Responsibilities
Plan procurement requirements based on production schedules, inventory levels, and demand forecasts.
Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure material availability.
Create, monitor, and follow up on purchase orders.
Collaborate with local and international suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met.
Coordinate inbound shipments and oversee incoming logistics activities.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock shortages and minimize excess inventory.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with new suppliers.
Support new product introductions (NPI) and component phase-in/phase-out activities.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Project Management, and Accounting teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement and inventory management.
2 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply planning, or materials management.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of supply planning and inventory management.
Experience working with international suppliers (a strong asset).
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, lookup functions, data analysis).
Experience with an ERP system (NetSuite, FileMaker, or similar is an asset).
Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What We Offer
Salary: $80,000 to $95,000, based on experience.
Annual bonus.
